Schedule:
Visiting
pilots are encouraged to check into the Prince
Hotel at the Alyeska tram base for the finest lodging and
closest proximity to the flying. Space is limited however and
many days are already booked.
Alternatively, you may find ample accommodations at Alyeska
Accommodations or Girdwood
Accommodations. There are no official camping sites in Girdwood.
If you need further assistance, local pilot Russell
Agnew is available to answer questions via email.
For
those on a budget, a hostel/shared housing is located about 15
minutes walk from the tram base. It’s a fine little guesthouse
with a rustic Alaska-style sauna out back and 360 views of Alyeska
and the surrounding mountains. Contact Alyeska
Hostel for reservations. |
Prizes:
Since the
prize list will continue to grow until the start of the fly-in,
you can expect great items from Flytec, Super Fly, Midnight Sun
Paragliding and more.
Last year
we had more prizes than pilots (!) and this year will likely follow
suit. |
Transportation
Eagle
River Shuttle service will take you to Girdwood from the airport for
$65 for one person and $10 per person additional (up to four). This
is cheaper than a taxi and probably more pleasant! Please call John
at (907) 764-4003 or 338-8888 at least 48 hours in advance with your
flight information.
Alternatively
The Shuttle Man offers the same service for $75/person plus $10 additional.
Call Steve at (907) 677-8537 or e-mail at elvisonline@gci.net
Once in Girdwood you may walk to most areas around town or catch a lift
with other pilots. If you need a rental car we recommend arranging the
best fare through Travelocity.
